Here's an early one and it has a very interesting history as well. Only one number lower than this one! This is Kimber of Oregon Model 82 Super American #SA2.that's right, Super America 2!
Not only is this an extremely early rifle, it has great history and provenance as well! Before production began, Kimber founder Greg Warne and fellow firearms enthusiast Lou Leonard arrived at the name 'Super America' while on a flight to the Las Vegas gun show. This information is even printed in the booklet 'Kimber Enthusiasts & Collectors Manual' (the booklet itself is not included in this auction). In gratitude for this contribution, Mr.
Leonard recieved this rifle and was allowed to pick the wood, etc. The shipping box is marked with Mr. Leonard's shipping information and a letter (please see last photo) also documents this interesting history. This early rifle has the correct early features found on the earliest Super Americas including no ebony forend tip, the fluted comb on the buttstock, and the round top receiver. Condition is excellent to MINT! There is evidence that the rings (not included) were on and off the bases but otherwise, no finish wear.she apppears brand new!
Chambered for the.22 Long Rifle of course. Perfect bore and action. Comes in the original box that's numbered to the rifle and the owner's manual is included as well.
This rifle would have been made in January, 1982. Features Include:• Proper 'SA' serial number prefix• 'Super America' script model designation on left of receiver• Classic style stock with continental cheekpiece• High grade California Claro Walnut stock• Neider type checkered steel buttplate• Round top receiver with bases for quick detachable scope mounts• 22-1/2' barrel with folding leaf on quarter rib• Bead front sight on ramp, grooved for hood• One-piece steel floorplate/trigger guard This is a rare opportunity to own such an early Super America with this kind of history! If this were a Winchester Model 70 Supergrade, serial number 2.just imagine what it would be worth today. THIS HAS TO BE A GREAT INVESTMENT!! Buyer pays $25.00 shipping. SORRY, BUT I CANNOT END ANY AUCTION EARLY PLEASE DON'T ASK!
